New Mower Engine
We just got the new mower engine, it is at Danielles hobby shop right now.
Mike, We need to make sure that the new engine get's cleaned off of all grass after each mowing,,,,, these engines are bad about cracking, because of heat buildup i'm sure, they probably have thin blocks. lets all make sure we keep a
check on the engine and pitch in and clean it when we can.
Mike please make sure that all the runway gets mowed. We dont want to let grass get to high on the sections of runway along the far side next to the tobacco field.
Any other suggestions from anyone???????????

Will get the mower engine and install it Friday. Does anyone have a small portable gasoline air compressor? If we could blow the mower and deck off once a week, it would be very helpful. A good leaf blower might do it.

What ever happen to the solar panels and batteries. This might be a way to get 110 volts. We might just buy a small gas leaf blower.
I always take my little generator and its 110 volt. Got a small 1500watt 4 hp four stroke for sale works great. $150. You can used it when I am there. Jeff your right we need to keep it very clean and change the oil and filter every 100 hours or less. The oil in the new engine so it ready to go. Make sure the blades are sharp. We should have two set of blades, that way we always have a sharp set ready it put on.

Solar panel and batteries are still at our old residence, I need to get up on the roof and retrieve them...just haven't had a chance to do so. To keep everyone aware.....the mower alerts you when it is time for an oil change. Also, on the new mower, since it is rarely used off of the runway, the blades tend to stay fair good. I have possesion of a gas leaf blower with a siezed engine...will see what I can do about getting one of my spare two stroke weed eater engines mounted on it.
Maintainance is performed on our mowers yearly...and repairs made as necessary between times.....I always try to keep at least one of them up and running.

Gas Blower
Great work all on the lawn mower. Now lets vote on getting a gas powered blower. This time of year should get us a good price.

ok....so this may seem like a political ad....probably the only one that you will ever see from me....heheheh. If we can build it...why pay someone else for it. I figure, the more the club has in the bank account, the more secure the club is...Sweat equity is the way to go....If we need or want something, lets figure out how to build or create it...We have a very diverse group of people that can do just about anything that needs done. Spending the clubs money should be a last resort.
