Welcome to VSMA Welcome to the home of Volunteer State Model Aviators, AMA Charter Club 3961. We are a growing club with members of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels. Originally formed in Springfield, TN, VSMA now resides in Cedar Hill, about 15 minutes from Springfield and 5 minutes from exit 19 off I-24. We maintain a 500 foot by 100 foot grass runway with one of the largest, most wide open flying fields in Tennessee. Proposed Changes to the By-Laws Proposed By-Laws Change #1 A. AMA Membership - Flying members will be required to hold and maintain a license issued by the AMA. All first-time flying members, as well as present flying members seeking membership renewal, must show proof of membership in the AMA. Non-flying and Associate Members do not require AMA membership. It should be noted that the by-laws do not include Non-flying or Associate Member categories. In July, Mike Winaught moved that we consider changing article 3A of the by-laws at the September meeting to: A. Memorial Day Flying- Monday May 26th Jim Bush Fly-In Review The fly-in was a huge success! The weather threatened to wash out the event but by the time Saturday arrived, the skies turned clear, sunny, and blue. The wind probably supressed turnout on Saturday, but the wind died down on Sunday and Sunday became an unofficial extension of the fly-in. The pilot fees, raffle tickets, and concessions raised over $1,000 for the club.
A few of the larger prizes are pictured below and you can click the picture to see more information about the prize (many other gift certificates and smaller prizes are not pictured):
Be sure to thank our sponsors when you give them your business! A huge thank you to our sponsors of this event:
